If you love books and podcasts, then you’re in the right place. This list of the 10 best podcasts for book lovers will spark your bookish delight, as well as the bonus reading list for the happy bibliophile…
I love books in all their various forms. From toddler board books to middle grade historical fiction, to most any genre at the local bookstore.
Audiobooks, e-books, and good old fashioned paper and ink books – they’re all wonderful.
But sometimes I want to discuss books with like-minded people. And barring that, I want to listen to a discussion on books.
Enter podcasts.
Author interviews, reviews, readings and so much more. Book podcasts are great for digging deeper into our favorite hobby.
Podcasts are huge these days and the options are endless. I will never listen to all the ones I want, and even this list is sadly short considering the variety out there. But I will attempt to list off the best podcasts for fellow book lovers. Here goes…

What Should I Read Next
Anne Bogel of Modern Mrs Darcy talks books, reading life, and does “literary matchmaking” with her guests. Fun and informative for the avid reader.
Also: check out her podcast One Great Book for a quick review of something off her own bookshelves.
Overdue
This podcast is all about the books we’ve been meaning to read, but haven’t yet. This is a great way to get inspired to dig into your dusty TBR pile.
Read Aloud Revival
Sarah Mackenzie is a homeschooling mom who has a passion for reading aloud as a family. Get inspiration, book recommendations, and enjoy author interviews here.
Get Booked
This podcast comes from Book Riot so you know there’s going to be tons of great reviews and recommendations. Perfect for beefing up your reading list this summer.
Reading Women
Listen to author interviews and discussions on books that are written by or about women. This podcast celebrates great women and great books, even if the world sometimes doesn’t.
33% Pulp
As someone who always finishes her books because she can’t stand not knowing, this show tweaked my interest. Hosts Daniel and Linzi, along with a guest, each read one-third of a book then discuss and piece it together. Fun, silly mayhem.
Novel Pairings
Sara and Chelsey pair classics with contemporaries of a similar theme in this podcast. I love the way they bring the classics to life and show how they’re relevant to us today. Lots of great book recommendations.
Hey YA
For the Young Adult book lover, this fun podcast covers what’s new in the YA arena. Another Book Riot podcast so lots of great reading suggestions and interviews with authors.
Moms Don’t Have Time to Read
Although I personally can’t totally agree with this title, Zibby Owens has an energetic style that makes this podcast fun. Lots of interviews with writers and a great way to figure out if you want to pick it up a book or skip it.
Selected Shorts
This NPR podcast features great actors reading short works of fiction in front of a live audience. I love the variety as well as the chance to hear great presentations by familiar voices. (Side note: this program has been going on since 1985!)
