If you’re wondering what are safe candies to eat during Halloween that are allergy-friendly, check out this list of gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free candy…
Halloween can be a really fun time, with costumes, parties, and lots and lots of candy. This is my kids’ favorite part of the holiday (mine too!) and they look forward to trick or treating every year. But ever since we learned that my son can’t have dairy and almonds, as well as gluten, we’ve had to make some changes in our routine.
Instead of just inspecting and digging in, now we do exchanges. This allows the kids with allergies to trade for fruit and homemade treats. This also lets the kids without allergies trade with the kids who have them, switching chocolates for fruity types so everyone gets something they can eat.
After a few years of this, I decided to put together a list of which candies are best for those avoiding gluten, dairy, and nuts. Some of these treats may have trace amounts as they are produced in factories that handle multiple types of candy. So if you have a life-threatening allergy, you may want to do further research. I love the Enjoy Life brand because they are extremely allergen-friendly and taste great.
Always be a careful label reader no matter what because ingredients can change.
Here’s a list of allergen-friendly treats for Halloween…
