For many of you, Mondays are stressful. Leaving the weekend behind, you start a new week dealing with errands, carpools, work meetings, kids’ activities, household chores, and a bottomless email inbox. So each Monday, I want to offer a bit of inspiration and encouragement that you can hopefully carry with you through the busiest days ahead. I hope it brings you the same joy and comfort it brings me.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.” (Psalm 23:1-3)
For my first Inspirational Monday, I wanted to start with a verse most people are familiar with. I love the book of Psalms because it provides so much promise and hope.
I find it comforting knowing that the Lord is my shepherd. That he will care for and lead me through life. There is freedom in letting go of control and allowing God to guide us, if only we will.
Have you ever had trouble giving up control? For me, this an almost daily struggle. We try so hard to take care of our spouses, our children, our homes, and our jobs. To let God have the reins can be difficult. But this is what He wants. Trust in God as sheep do a shepherd. He will protect you from harm, lead you on the right path, and comfort you in troubling times.
What kind of day are you having today? Are things going smoothly or do you feel the need for some heavenly guidance as you navigate a tough situation?
Remember that God promises green pastures and still waters. He offers peace and restoration of your soul. Why not take a moment to thank Him and pray for His peace in your life.
Have a blessed day!
