“The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.” (Genesis 2:15)
Oh, Monday, here you are again.
Whether you’re heading back to the office or getting your kids ready for school this morning, it can be a struggle to feel grateful. After all, the weekend is only two days but the work week is five. So unfair.
But since the beginning of time, work has been a part of man’s (and woman’s) life. God wanted us to be accomplished, to be responsible, and to see the fruits of our labors.
So instead of trudging off gloomily to a new week, take pride in the hard work that you put in. God has blessed you with a job that feeds your family and utilizes your talents. He has given you children to mold and teach and a house to live in and care for. While work isn’t always fun, it is still a blessing. Just imagine if it was gone..
Sometimes all we need to pick up our mood on a Monday is a change in attitude. Choose gratitude. Choose to be content where you are and see the positives before the negatives drag you down. Be an example for others, and soon the office and the car pool lane won’t look so dreary.
Happy Monday!
