“People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.” (Proverbs 21:2)
When you are in a disagreement with someone, do you ever wonder if you are wrong? Probably not. Most of us enter an argument only because we believe that what we are fighting for is the right thing. But what if it isn’t?
Take the time today to think back on any issues you may have had over the weekend. Were there any differences of opinion with your spouse, your sister, your child? Were you doing the right thing or just thinking that you were?
Just because we have good intentions doesn’t change the fact that we could be doing the wrong thing. So reflect on this and be conscious of it throughout this week. Ensure that the words that are coming out of your mouth reflect the truth in your heart.
The next time a battle of wills crops up in your house or workplace, stop and think whether you are truly in the right, or only right in your own eyes.
If you’re not sure, pray about it. The Lord sees into your heart, and can also see the big picture. Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance from the Almighty compass at your disposal.
Have a blessed Monday!
