We are not meant to live in chaos, but instead to be guided through life with order and calm…
“But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” (1 Corinthians 14:40)
As a mom of five, my life often feels chaotic. My schedule is overfilled, my time spoken for, and many voices are vying for my attention. It’s hard to see the order amongst so much busyness.
But the chaos that we experience in our lives isn’t what God intended for us. It is a man-made problem that we have aggravated over time, as we add more and more to our plates, getting sucked into the “busy is better” mindset of our culture.
We were never intended to live a life of chaos. God wants order, calm, and peace for us. But how do we get there in these busy times?
Finding order in chaos
God always intended for us to be an orderly people. From the time he set man over the workings of the Garden of Eden to the 10 Commandments that guided the Israelites, to the disciples set apart to build the church after Jesus’ resurrection. God has always had a plan and it was meant to keep us in order.
He left us with His Word so that we would always have guidance. The Bible is meant to teach, guide, admonish, and encourage us through our lives. And despite the busy times we live in, His Word is still applicable.
We can see throughout the old and new testaments that God set rules and guidelines for His people so that they would never be lost or confused. We can find parables from Jesus that show us how to live.
When you feel as though there is no order in your world, remember that God has left you with ways to bring it back. He is the provider of peace and He will not leave you in your time of need.
Have a blessed Monday!
