He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
Every day is full of decisions. There are the small ones that we make on auto-pilot. White or wheat? Stairs or elevator? Then there are the big ones that leave us floundering for direction, afraid to make a wrong move. Stay at our old job or strike out on our own? Marry or cut bait? Vaccinate or don’t? Indecision can be a paralyzing force, and if we don’t press forward, we may be stuck in limbo forever. Or worse, make a decision by default.
But which way do we go? Which decision is the right one?
Faith is a powerful force, too. Even just a mustard seed’s worth can move a mountain. But the mountain doesn’t move merely by faith. Faith is what causes us to say, “Move from here to there.” Our faith added to our action makes the impossible, possible.
If you’re struggling with something today, whether it be in your work life, your family life, or your personal life, have faith that God will lead you down the right path to the place you were meant to be. Pray for guidance. And then take action. God will always open doors for us and provide us opportunities, but it is up to us to take them.
I pray that your faith, whether as small as a mustard seed or as big as a mountain today, leads you to a decision that allows you to continue down your God-ordained path.
Have a blessed Monday!
