“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)
The Bible doesn’t tell us not to have fun. It doesn’t say that we should live boring, drab lives. That’s not what God wants for us.
There are dozens of verses that reflect God’s wish for us to enjoy the life He has given us. One filled with laughter and joy, fellowship and restfulness.
But that fun and pleasure should be seen and experienced through the lens of our faith. By keeping our focus on Him, the things that make us happy will continue to satisfy that part of us that craves to relax and unwind, but will direct those activities in the right direction.
God doesn’t hate parties and alcohol. Jesus’ first miracle was turning water into wine at a wedding banquet.
But remember to aim for moderation in this, and all things. Bring God into your friendships and relationships. Gather together with other Christians, and those that are curious about your faith, and praise God in fellowship.
Life is a blessing that is to be enjoyed. If you keep God at the forefront of your mind with everything you do, you’ll find yourself more satisfied than ever.
Have a fun-filled and God-centered Monday!
