We all want to be listened to, but we don’t always have an attentive ear. However, God is always there to hear what we have to say…
“Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:15)
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I don’t feel listened to. I feel no one is paying attention to my worries and fears, to my objections or thoughts on things.
Part of that is in my head, and some of that is real. Living with other imperfect humans means that we don’t always listen to each other like we should. We can’t always get outside of our own heads long enough to understand others.
This makes life a little bit harder and a little bit lonelier at times. But it’s not just our family, spouses, friends, and co-workers that we have to talk to. We can bring these things to God.
Finding peace because God listens
Prayer is a time when we can bring all of the things that bother us, scare us, or bless us to God for help, understanding, and thankfulness. He is always attentive to our prayers.
I’ve often felt like my less-than-pretty prayers would not be what God wanted to hear. But over time, I’ve realized that He listens to all prayers. Even the stuttering, meandering, and complaining ones.
God loves us and has opened this line of communication between Himself and us so we will always have a way to connect with Him. We are not alone and we are always listened to. Isn’t that something to brighten our day?
Have a blessed Monday!
