“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Do you know some flaky people? Or are you one of them?
It can be frustrating having to deal with those who say they will do something, but then don’t follow through. Or they don’t show up when they say they will. Or do their portion of the work.
I can’t say that I’ve never disappointed anyone with my own flakiness. Being human means making mistakes. Sometimes we make promises so we don’t disappoint someone, or because we don’t want to say no.
But when we don’t meet our commitment, we’ve disappointed them anyway. We falter because things get busy, or we’re tired, or (honestly) we really don’t want to.
We rely on each other knowing that our imperfect natures will always lead us to err.
We rely on God because we know that he never will.
His love, His grace, and His faithfulness will never end. God never leaves us hanging, never disappoints us, and is never too busy.
Even when we make excuses, when we forget to pray, when we turn away — He is always there. Unchanging and faithful.
What a blessing it is to be loved by a God like that!
Have a wonderful Monday!
