When we’re going through hard times, our hope can begin to dim. We feel unheard, unseen. It feels like our prayers go unanswered. But we are not alone…
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
Hard times have a way of eating away at our hopes and peace. Whether it’s money, health, relationships, or another personal struggle, over time, we can feel beaten down.
Our prayers begin to lose their heart because we aren’t getting the answers we’d hoped for. We look for quick solutions and relief from pain.
We may begin to doubt God, to doubt that He cares as He says He does. If He cared, wouldn’t He help?
These doubts and questions are normal and part of growing in faith. It’s an opportunity to look back at how God has helped with past struggles. How we have seen His hand in other areas and times of our life.
It’s a chance to renew our hope in Him.
We have hope because He has overcome the world
God doesn’t make bad things happen to us. He doesn’t like seeing us hurt. But our world is full of brokenness and we will inevitably go through hard times living in it.
Jesus warned us of this. He never pretended that following Him would be easy or without struggles.
But He did give us hope.
Hope that the pain of now would not be the pain of tomorrow. Hope that our hard times would be the fire that hones our faith and our spirits.
And hope that no matter what we are struggling with, God will overcome it. There is nothing He cannot defeat.
So keep praying. Keep hoping. God has not abandoned you or stopped hearing you. Be patient in your hope and trust that His timing is perfect.
He will overcome all troubles. For God never breaks a promise.
Have a blessed day!
