“…God is always with them, always ready to whisper his words of challenge, encouragement, affirmation, and loving rebuke. He is always watching, always caring, always hearing.” -Gary Thomas, Sacred Marriage
I like this definition of God’s presence. I like to think of Him as a true father, one who loves us and cares for us. One who challenges us but still walks beside us, encouraging us through to the end. We all have days when we feel alone, no matter how many people surround us. It’s important to remind ourselves of the truth.
I like the idea that he rebukes us. I know that sounds weird, but one of the worst things in life is making mistakes that are never corrected or punished. Without consequences, we never learn, never grow. I want an all knowing and all seeing God who is always there in my life, even when I’m not my best self. Especially then.
Spend today listening for those whispers. Feel the presence of the Lord as you go through your day, guiding you along His chosen path. He is your Father, and will never abandon you.
Have a blessed Monday!
