Many of us try to avoid the inevitability of our own mortality. Some of us exercise and eat healthy, living “right.” Others do the opposite, smoking, drinking, and eating what they want.
But no matter what we do or how many years we have on this earth, we won’t live forever.
Nothing is permanent in this life. Not even us. The only thing that stands forever is the one who created this world, but is not of it — God.
He is faithful and everlasting. We can trust that He will be with us from beginning to end, and even after we depart this life.
If you find yourself putting too much weight into earthly things — relationships, work, material possessions, or even yourself — bring your focus back to God. He will always be there and never fail you.
Start today with a prayer that God will focus your mind and heart on the things of forever rather than on the things of right now. May His peace and wisdom guide you through the week.
Have a blessed Monday!
