“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)
It’s Monday morning and, for a lot of us, it’s hard to get the motivation to get up and get going. Maybe it was a rough weekend, or maybe this week is going to be busy and demanding and not something to look forward to.
Though it may seem counter-intuitive, slow down and look for a chance to take a break. Grab coffee with a friend, listen to an uplifting podcast, or unload a little on your spouse. Allow their love and encouragement to lift your spirits and reduce your stress.
That goes both ways. Be a cheerleader for your family and friends. Build them up, inspire them, and offer the hopeful words their souls crave. God created humans to desire companionship, love, and community. The relationships we have with each other buoy us up when life’s struggles make us sink.
So if this week seems like a heavy weight upon your shoulders, seek encouragement and solace from those around you and the God who loves you. And be quick to give as you receive.
Have a happy Monday!
