“My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the Lord.” (Psalm 26:12)
One day, I was walking across the snowy yard, trying to reach the far end where my children were building snowmen. As I went, I began to breathe heavier and I noticed my ankles hurting. Walking across the uneven, snow-packed ground was hard work.
A month later, I made the same walk, but this time over a flat yard where all the snow had melted to retrieve a runaway ball. The walk was easy and much faster.
That’s how it is when we walk with God. When we try to walk through our life on our own, we are traveling over uneven ground that slows us down, wears us out, and hurts us.
But when we walk through life with God at our side, the path is smoother, easier, and we find ourselves facing less obstacles. Not that the walk is without any hills or valleys, but His presence in our lives gives us the strength to go on and the wisdom to skirt the biggest pitfalls.
So praise the Lord with thanksgiving as He walks alongside you, keeping your feet on level ground as you walk whatever path He puts you on.
Have a blessed Monday!
