“All great achievements require time.” –Maya Angelou
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Slow and steady wins the race. Good things come to those who wait.
Patience is one of those traits that always seems to lead to positive results. If you can just wait for them. I can appreciate the wonderful things that come from being patient and not rushing things. Bread, books, babies.
But it has never been my strong suit. With the crazy pace the world keeps and the near-instantaneous fulfillment of wishes that comes with it, patience is a muscle we do not use nearly as often as we should.
You can’t argue with the results though. Whether you are working on a big campaign at the office and earning credits toward a degree, your patience and diligence will pay off.
If you are repairing a relationship, teaching a child, or working on yourself, you know that quick fixes are not the answer.
The most important things that we accomplish will require our time, effort, and attention. And as much as we crave instant gratification, it leads to a hollow satisfaction.
So stretch that muscle and cultivate patience in your projects, plans, and prayers. It is a virtue that will reward you in all that you do.
Have an amazing Monday!
