“However, as it is written: ‘What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived’— the things God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
My children ask me about heaven a lot.
What will it be like? What will we do? What will we look like? Is it fun? Will I see you?
I honestly wish I had better answers for them because sometimes I feel like I’m just not explaining it right. As if my descriptions don’t do it justice. Which makes sense because my basic human understanding is completely inadequate.
How can I describe the wonders of what awaits us after this world when my mind can’t even imagine them? Even the most beautiful, most amazing, most enjoyable experiences and things that we have here and now don’t compare to what is coming.
I find this so comforting during times of struggle, when pain and sadness feel more familiar than laughter. But I also find it mind-boggling on the days when I think I couldn’t be happier. I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me so much that he has saved wonders beyond compare for when I finally come home.
Whether today finds you having a good day or a bad one, remember that while all of this will pass, God has saved the best for last.
Have a wonderful Monday!
