“The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” (Psalm 145:15-16)
We all have something big that we are waiting on. The realization of a dream. A future spouse. A baby. Reconciliation with family. The end of a long struggle. Each of us has something that we long for, pray for, and hope for.
But the wait can seem interminable. And, if like me, you struggle with being a bit of a control freak, you may be tempted to take matters into your own hands. Take what you can get and let the dream slip away. Marry the guy who seems good enough. Give up or push too hard.
Often our attempts at taking the reins from God end disappointingly, if not disastrously. That’s because, as mere humans, our best efforts pale in comparison to the amazing abilities of our Lord. We can kick down ant hills, but He can move mountains.
So be patient. Let me say that again, as much for you as for me. Be patient. When the time is right, God will hand you everything you need and more. If you are hungry, you will be fed. If you are hurting, you will be comforted. And if you are struggling, you will be strengthened.
As you start this new week, and perhaps step back into the situation that you need deliverance from, remember that God’s hand is always extended to us — open, beseeching, offering. And inside is the answer to our prayers, according to His will and better than we could have ever imagined.
Have an amazing Monday!
