“In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.” (Ephesians 1:13)
Most of us want to belong to something, or someone. We yearn for this connection and search for it throughout our lives.
Some people find it, or think they do, in their marriages, their friends, their jobs, or their children. And while all of those connections are important and can bring satisfaction and happiness, they aren’t the one thing we are really striving for.
This verse brings me comfort because it reminds me that I am a chosen and beloved child of God. My faith and His promise guarantee that I will always have a place.
There will always be someone who loves me. I will always be a part of something much bigger than myself and the world I live in. Loneliness and fear have no power against my God.
The Holy Spirit is a great gift that is given to us in this life. It intercedes for us, guides us, and is ever-present in our lives. When Jesus died, he promised that we would have the Holy Spirit to remind us of all that he taught.
We all want to belong. And as believers in Christ, we do.
Have a blessed Monday!
